Decided to take the Ghibli back to bare metal. At the same time the engine is being rebuilt (again). Decided to change colour to blue as wellness.so far no rust but we have a badly repaired front end which will need some work (accident damage at some point ). If anyone is at Autoficina in the Betz few months you are welcome to take a look at progress. Hoping to have her ready for Auto Italia.

That little lot should win you the prize for the most expensive Maserati service of 2018! But at least it's a car that can justify such investment and commitment. I'll watch with interest as I need to do a similar job on my 400i.

No that's the original colour but I figured if I was going to the expense of a full respray I should pick a colour that I like.

Are you going for a Maserati blue? or something completely different?

Either way it'll look gorgeous. As I'm sure Ewan will agree with me, blue is the best colour on a Maserati.

I think I'd go Blu Nettuno on an old Ghibli. With Rosso Pelle interior. (The same combination as Robert has on his mk II Ghibli GT).

My 400i is dark blue (obviously). It was originally dark brown, but the first owner got bored of that so had Ferrari repaint it blue when that become more fashionable in the mid 1980's. I'm looking to change it back to brown, but a lighter and more bronze/grey shade. Either way, it'll still be a Ferrari colour of the correct period.
