So anybody that has a different view to you should be banned?

If I could be bothered I would go back through all your posts and reprint all the ones where you slagged off other people's choice of cars........or even steering wheels. Perhaps you might do that yourself and reflect on some of your comments.......

Maybe... but does he intend to be? Just so long as well know that his 650 is the best thing since girls, right?

Happily SM isn't PistonHeads. It's a far better place to be and far more egalitarian.

I don't think he intends to but he inadvertently does end up looking like a clown as it's just funny how much he loves his Maccas!

And iainw I wish you many more surgeries so that you too can experience more higher end cars and then have a chance to compare these to the older ones you had. There is a reason one is £35k and the other is £350k. If you feel I'm dissing the lower end ones then I'm afraid you have he wrong end of the stick as I loved my MC shift a ton! If I don't like a car you wish to buy then don't get offended!

I think you will find I have not expressed any feelings of being offended. Quite the opposite- I have taken your opinions on board but said none of the concerns relate to the reality of why I want it. As others have said - its horses for courses.
Everyone on here loves cars and will have thought long and hard about their purchase weighing up the pros and cons. There is a fine balance between offering constructive criticisms and alternate options based on experience. Most people seem to get the balance right.

Im glad you said that. I went to Cars and Coffee in Liverpool on Sunday and there was an orange Aventador S there. What a vulgar wankmobile. Don't see the point personally, but no offence.

No offence taken. Many people who can't afford these types of cars call them similar. I get it on the road all the time - it's sad really as in the US nothing like this happens. I go there a lot on work and drive nice cars whilst there but no negativity at all. It sure is a UK thing - bigger houses are not nice as they are like hotels and not homely enough and nice cars are **** mobiles in the UK :D

It was tongue in cheek. I don't believe I have ever denigrated someone's choice of car? Steering wheels however...I admit I did take offence to the skinny pre facelift retrim. . On VFM grounds. In reality the person who was asking advice (who is a great guy) loves his GTS and bought my facelift steering wheel. So not only was I proved correct - I also gave it to him for a good price. It makes his lovely car look even better now.

Why should being able to afford them have an impact on whether they are vulgar wankmobiles? I can afford an Aston but I still think they are cr4p. If I had £300k+ to blow on a car, it certainly wouldn't be an Aventador.

"Vulgar wankmobile" has now entered the lexicon of motoring terms, and for that, once again, I must offer Ben my esteemed thanks.

Uncanny use of linguistics to define physical form. Benny does have a knack of intertwining imagery with the written word.

I know your choice of cars in your signature proves that :jptongue:

He's a bloody poet. Our own William Wordsworth.

Yeah, but my lawnmower's a hybrid electric so totally faster and more sexy than Ben's old school thing.

Good Lord, but what silly squabbling. mcs, is this really the way to behave? One must assume that a man of the means and the material success which you so proudly flaunt would have long ago learned to exercise some emotional restraint. Still, we all grow up at different speeds. Anyway, carry on; it's amusing to observe.

Incidentally, please help me out: what does "fully murdered out in black" mean? You describe your Land Rover thus. Are you saying you have a black car? What colour are your other cars? I'm sure we'd all love to know.

Birdseed, good afternoon. Just because you aren't the biggest kn0b on here anymore it doesn't mean you can descend on us and insult people for fun. Obviously, you fool, 'murdered out in black' means that the limited appeal of those vehicles has been killed by the choice of colours. Get with it, d!ckhead.

Urm - is what the way to behave? I don't get which post of mine you are referring to? What has my material success got to do with this anyway? I don't get why you are all ganging up on me because of my views on the cars that I have had the privilege to drive and own. You can send me a PM and I will tell you what colour all my other cars were. I think I ran out of space so was unable to fill in those details.

Right - who's next to come at me on here?

Wow, toucheee! Firstly, just because you call yourself a kn0b doesn't mean any of us agree with you. Just because I told Birdseed he wasn't the biggest kn0b on here, I think it's a bit arrogant that you should assume the mantle yourself as there are other worthy candidates like Sparticarse. Also, as I've pointed out prior to your last post, I don't like Aventadors or Velours and wouldn't have one even if I could afford it so please, don't ever think I'm jealous of you. Cars are a personal choice. Like you said, it's a public forum and I can say anything I please.
