Sorry for diverting this thread. But update on my saga.

So I took her SLC back to the MB Main agent after they agreed that they should not be charging her to find out why there is a error related to the new battery they fitted on Monday.

After 3 hours they were still non the wiser. There are no error codes stored, but the display still says battery not charging.

I left it with them as they 'think' it may be the battery sensor, which they would have to order.

Gave me a brand new C43 estate with 12 miles on the clock as a curiosity car...God what an awful jerky gearbox it has... makes the 4200 feel like it has a torque converter in comparison.

Would welcome any sage advice of what could be the issue.

If MB don't know what it is Peter with factory diagnostic gear and access to the Factory it's only going to be guesswork on our part.
Just hope nothing was spiked in changing the battery did the battery get fitted by a technician or apprentice ?

And sellotape the invoice to the battery so you can prove it.
You don't need to do that if you buy from Tayna. I bought a new battery for the Gransport and they said they have the record of sale for the warranty. Simply call them up if claiming in the warranty period, they will check their records and confirm next steps if still in warranty.

Very good outfit. Fast efficient transaction and despatch. Reached me the next day.

I would try MB Forum. I am on that for my daily driver W211. There are a couple of MB Technicians on it who seem to know literally everything about MB cars. I would not waste time posting on this or the Porsche forum for any queries on the W211. There are several. I am on this one:
