Now that is lovely......and a proper engine.....Astons V12 is just one of the greats no matter what it's in. Sportshift 111 so a better box. 134k is a lot when you can get Mclarens and Gallardos for the same money which will be quicker but as with Maserati that's not the point.

I'm not a big Aston fan, but even I liked that!

It is a Vanquish so 8-speed ZF Auto in that one not a Sportshift :)

Hmm... I thought it was pretty ok. The GT3 I sort of bought was far harsher, a real brain-shaker and it would have been nasty on a run or anywhere I didn't want to pretend I had any talent. I do need to get out and take a Vantage for a longer drive in case it turns out they're are actually pretty nasty on a long, steady run, such as with Mrs Crud.

As for switching the dampers, the difference between standard and track was night and day. A magnititude more of a difference compared to the GTS in normal and sport, and the handling in track was tremendous. Immediate responsiveness from the wheel and properly planted (with just enough wriggle thrown in to keep you on your toes). Wouldn't be a lot of fun on a crappy road, though.
I don't have anything to compare it to other than the GTS and that was a far more comfortable ride. My wife finds the Vantage very uncomfortable. She does hanker after a Morris Traveller though so...

I kook at the V(S) at 65k then look at the Strad @ Redline for 63995 and I go all funny, and its less than half the mileage...but, really a GTS is too big, more a GS or Vantage..

tHE v8 420 probably has too many miles 9for me anyway)

Keep up the work tho'

GTS/Strad ain't too big. maybe for small men who can't drive...

As opposed to tall men who can't drive.....

Lol - I'm average and don't drive fast (m'lord) and don't know if I can, probably not, the GTS just feels too big "to me"

Once you are in it and used to it believe me it doesn't. It's the same as the QP really, doesn't feel big.

My decision is whether to buy something cheapish next year to scratch the sportscar itch, probably a Cayman S or be patient and wait until 2019 when I might have saved enough for a Vantage.

I love the look of the GTS but the size always puts me off as do running costs - Emblem advised they are a step up from the 4200 and that was costly enough. Mate has an Aston and those bills appear to be on par with the 4200 but he doesn't seem to have as many failures - decisions decisions

I'd argue that the 4200 costs more to run, more common issues and older tech/parts means more liable to failure especially as they are now nearing 20 years old. The build quality of the GTS is better imo....

How about this one Adam?

Looked lovely when I saw it last week.

The Vanquish if gorgeous, but £134k is a lot of money. Also, although those seats are seriously comfortable they look grim and I don't like them in blue.

I'd like to believe that a Vanquish can't be any more jiggly than any other short wheelbase car. My wife loves her Fiat 500 and it must be more sumptuous than that... right?

Nah , 4200 and GS are much better built under the surface and the engine and F1 systems are the same and the clutches still wear pretty quick on the MC shift version . The GTS is a barge that eats its own under sized brakes ;P

Of course these facts will become un true if i ever buy one ;P
