Would love to try dropping the Spyder a little, but I'm already a bit nervous of some of the brutal the speed bumps round London.

Chris,
Yes that is an issue and any drop would have to be measured. When Lambo's and Ferrari's move around they seem to manage and they are low. I believe the standard suspension on the 4200/Spyder will drop a bit without adding, or replacing anything, so when mine next goes in I am going to have a look.

Back to the car.
Eurospares have a replacement bonnet and front bumper in stock but used.

A GranSport is 10mm lower than a stock 4200, so you should be able to do that without any issues as a minimum. I think Miles did that with his old 4200. I've spoken to Mathew at Giallo who reckons that a few GS owners have dropped the ride height further and say it's transformed the handling. It's something I will think about, but I don't want the car scraping everywhere when I drive it. I find the handling very good so far - may have a different opinion after taking it on a track.

Peter,
I don't think the bonnet is damaged, just the nose and maybe the bumper, which is a bit more complicated.
MAF,
I have room to drop mine, there is quite a lot of room above each tyre top, I could drop it 25mm without much of an issue. The AC is noticeably lower. The only time that has hit anything, is when we went on the ferry and touched one of the port speed bumps, which are like big plastic ridges about 8" high, darn things.
Cheers

Interesting that both of the manual cars are at 68k miles and neither has a mention of the cam chains being done. The Yorkshire car is CAT registered so, given the choice/prices, probably best avoided.

£13K is cheap, even at 68K miles. If they have good history and no CAT, they are well worth a punt, but as MAF says, chains could be ready for changing and that's a cost..??

Yes but even with factoring in the cost of the chains if they have not been done, £13k looks a decent price to me so maybe AC prices are reaching a lower level? I guess competition always fuels this and with less than 50 left in the UK, there certainly seems to be a good few available to buy currently

I suspect there are a few very nice AC's tucked away and those are the ones I'd be looking for. Of the three currently on eBay one would be 'no chance' imho, one may be recoverable given sufficient time and money, and the third may be worth a look as I don't think it's done too many miles in recent years. Shame they're all silver though, I'd rather have red or black.

If the AC is £13K, what's that say about the value of the standard GT..?? I know they are at least 11 years old, but what a car for the money..??
Maybe cars are just not selling, Supercars anyway and this is being reflected in the prices currently..??

The CAT car was 12k.....68k is not too high miles.....at 13k advertised it means around 12k could be bought....thats too low....an average one is 15k and a good one is 18k.....thats the prices from the last few years......

Agreed Dem

It is unlikely that you would get a good AC for that price. As ever, it's a case of caveat emptor.

There was a nice 3200 on eBay for £5k this morning. It looked as though the zero-feedback seller had lifted the pics from a recent dealer listing.
