Asking for a friend who's looking at this at the moment.
First thoughts:
Not a specialist dealer.
2010 4.2?
MOT failure 2017:
  • Anti-lock braking system warning lamp indicates an ABS fault (3.4.1c)
  • Nearside Front Valve stem seriously damaged (4.1.D.1e) Dangerous

I've pointed him towards Nuvola and Dicky :)
I dont know the car but my old 2009 QP 4.7 S had an ABS warning light which was traced to a faulty ABS sensor on the front nearside wheel. Cost me nearly £1100 to get repaired!. Reason is because the sensor is an integral part of the wheel hub so the whole hub has to be replaced. Fortunately you dont have to replace in pairs. I was informed that if it had been the main ABS master unit it would have cost me nearer £2.5k. By the way the price of the sensor and hub unit is around £630 plus vat and then labour to fit. So its not cheap..Perhaps some pricing leverage for your mate?

Makes you wonder what happened to front left to bugger a valve stem and suspicion that the wheel sensor / hub could be knackered?
Fault find the ABS or it could be a proper sized bill!

I don't get how a valve stem can be tested or checked on a MOT, are we talking cylinder head valves?
