Disregarding the fact that it's a Maserati for a moment, it's a pretty average mileage for a second hand car. Low mile examples are just that. And you cant drive them without impacting any gamble you might be taking regarding eventual market demand for the marque..?
A 100K mile car might be very well cared for...Going into it as a prospective buyer however, the one thing do know about it is that its clocked 100K miles...
For me, it feels like you're buying alot of miles...
Im not sure about the 'thousands made" comment....Maserati will never be a BMW production numbers entity...so there's that !?
Still looks nice. Cant blame a guy for trying to make it presentable for a sale IMO !!!
Disregarding the fact that it's a Maserati for a moment... average annual mileage for cars in the UK is 7,900. 14 years means 110,600 is average, therefore 65k is below average, and indeed almost 50% of average and easily qualifies as low.
Judging solely by the advert, it sounds like a propeer car with FSH which has been done by Maserati, a clutch replacement (though no mention of when), and the MOT history looks like the MOT station has failed it then fixed it rather than fixed it and passed it (fails on simple things like brake pipes and headlamp adjustment - though it sounds like it needs a proper geometry set up with the tyres wearing)
These cars were built to compete with Porsche, to be used daily, and to soak up the miles of long trips.
Threads like this just put off potential new owners who worry that the mileage is far too high.
I'm not saying it's going to be a great car, but it's an £11k car with a full main dealer service history and is CAT clear.
This has the potential to be a great entry level car with room for improvement in any buyers budget.
I'd be going through the service history, and potentially verifying with the dealer, looking through the receipts, and looking at this as a car that can be used.
These cars are approaching the 10k mark not because they are common, but because potential buyers find places like this and are put off buy all the threads talking about it being a high miler and being put off
Didn't someone on here just sell a 65k car for around £15k and the general consensus was it was well priced..?!
Mine has 71k on the clock, I did 900 miles around the north of Scotland last week, and I paid more for it and am happy (though I'd be paying more to avoid the red leather anyway!)
