Looking for a GT S around the £40k mark . I noticed this car up in Nottingham up at £44k ( perhaps a bit of haggle room ) looks nice I quite like the silver and red and only 22k miles with 6 months warranty :)

Just wondered if anyone knew the car , might save me a trip if not a good un ?

I still need to drive one as well , my only drive in a GT was a really ropey 4.2 in Manchester with a dodgy wrap knocking suspension and just crawled around the city centre , So I do need to have a go in a good one to make sure I actually like the car ..... :)

Any info on the car would be appreciated .

Carl

Hi Roocarl. A couple of things which leap out: the headlamp squirty cover trim thing on the OS is missing. Not uncommon, but not replacing it prior to photographing makes me wonder what else is missing. It seems pretty sloppy. Also, the trident on the front grill looks like it is missing the red stripes, which denote the S. They do wear off, but should still be there after 22k miles. Mine are still there after 43k miles.

To be honest for a car like this I'd go to Dicky Grace (Richard Grace cars), Nareman Virk (Nuvola London) or David at ADG, near Sevenoaks. They are specialists, very well respected, and won't sell you a dud.

Hi Carl
Excellent advise above and I agree with this one looking odd with that cover missing, very poor.
The specialists mentioned above will have some of the best cars available with excellent warranties too. Plus their PDIs are very thorough. Good luck in your search

It does look scruffy and an undesirable exterior colour.

This is a good advice... follow it!

yep buy the BEST you can from a reputable dealer with recent clutch (if MCS) and low miles.

Cheers guys I appreciate what you are saying but my budget is really nearer the £40k mark , The Dealer promised to sort any minor imperfections and has full Maserati Service history and 6 months Sytner warranty are not to be sniffed at .

I would be looking at nearer £50k from a Maserati Specialist with that mileage :-( no disrespect to the guys that do that and have extended warranties etc if you have the funds why not !

Replacing a washer cover is a minor thing I am more interested in general overall condition , If anyone has seen the car might save me a trip :)
Some cars just look a bit tired , faded paint worn interiors etc some are waxed regularly kept inside and valeted you can normally tell in the first 5 mins.

I looked at a R8 last week nothing really wrong with it drove great etc but just looked like an old tired car , where as my old Aston even after 8 years looked nearly new . I am sure you guys know what I mean !
To be honest most of my cars have been bought privately , I know what to look for :) and if the car is good has a proper history and owner respectable I have never had any problems Touch wood ...

So if anyone knows this car please give me some info or send a pm It has a half red interior .

Agree that the cover can be easily replaced.

As for the red markings on the Trident, the auto does not have them unless you have the Red Esse pack or the Sports pack so nothing missing there.

You could get a good deal from Sytner Direct as they use it to retail cars they do not want to put through Graypaul or Maranello. Would need a look though.

Thanks Bob That is a very good point !
Strange it has not gone through the GrayPaul Maserati network they own ? might be a question worth asking them ......

I put a deposit on one recently at Sytner.
It was well priced. I asked for it to be sent to Graypaul, which they did.
The inspection here turned up a couple of issues which meant they couldn't do the repairs/replacements I wanted and still sell at screen price. They were good to deal with to be fair and I just decided to up my budget and get an MCs with a better spec.
I would deal with them again though if the right car came up.

As others have said though - Especially Richard Grace is worth asking as his cars are well priced and very good examples.

Agreed, Andy. Black cars just seem to disappear into themselves. Fine if they're ugly but the GTS looks so good it's earned the right to flaunt its lines. That one looks nice. The Alcantara seats look lots better than full leather. I'm not a fan of the aluminium trim - prefer piano black or carbon. Easy enough to fix, though. Just needs a stripe and its musical tunes to be liberated from that asthmatic exhaust.

Absolutely- silver (or grigio touring!) is definitely the colour to have; though I may well be biased. I've got a black interior with piano black inserts and it looks brilliant.

Cheers Andy I will consider it but would prefer an Auto , Silver is normally a fairly bland safe colour on cars but It does suit the GT and show off its lines I agree :)

... but need darker (not black) wheels. Satin gunmetal or charcoal look look. As does a stripe.

A stripe? I do not think I have seen many with stripes , I have seen a black one with a very subtle matt black stripe in the bonnet centre that looked ok ...

I had this silver loaner when mine was in getting some warranty work done. It had the sports pack fitted which is well worth looking out for.
