I know, well, ok it about using the small claims court, trading standards that kind of thing. I think I need to be a little careful what I say here. If for example you were to get your car wrapped, partly on the basis that you saw that this company had already wrapped another Lamborghini, and you had seen this lamborghini and thought it was a good job. But then when you get your car back, the job is dire, and then you find that the company claiming to have wrapped the other car never actually wrapped it at all. Does this make sense???

Sounds like misrepresentation to me but have you got any evidence supporting that originally they claimed to have wrapped a lambo or is it all here say ??????? By the way welcome back stranger

Small claims limit is £5000, a respray at Lamborghini would cost £13000 as the car has to be dismantled apparently.

could I email you the letter of particulars I sent the court, so that your wife could see what she thinks? Thanks for the help.

Its not so much that it needs a respray, I won't know that until the wrap comes off, but whilst they put the wrap on, they used a blade of some description to cut the vinyl. And have cut into the paintwork, This is only visible on a few panels at the moment, so until the wrap comes off, I won't know the full extent of the damage. I am reluctant to take the wrap off, as I am dreading the likely paint damage, and also because I have just payed a lot of money for it that, I may not get back. And if the paintwork is badly damaged, suing for that amount of money isn't going to come cheap. To be honest I don't know what to do.

Dont take the wrap off.....there will be no proof of what damaged your paintwork.....
Take off with someone videoing it or wait see what court says

Yep, leave everything intact otherwise you open yourself up to the counter-allegation that YOU caused the damage upon removal. It becomes one person's word against the other.

They used a knife to cut the vinyl whilst on the car? Sounds like you were their first client of any kind. Are they a ltd? They might wind it up and start under a new banner.

Fairly standard to cut in-situe but inexperienced operatives use way too much pressure and/or knives that are not uber sharp! leading to paint damage...

I've heard the most common problem area with a wrap is at the panel seams where extra heat and persuasion is required. Combine this with sheets that are smaller than they should be for any given panel and heat / cutting damage can result. Puckered seams are a dead giveaway.

Sorry to hear you're having problems Peter. Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.
