its on ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-MASE...omobiles_UK&hash=item3f1ad18e29#ht_537wt_1271

sounds very fishy:

The vehicle was recorded as a cat d in march 2005, it was repaired to a high standard, but after seven years the paint was looking tired, so a respray was the obvious choice so a colour change at the same time was under taken, i have photos prior to the respray.

apparently only resprayed because the paintwork was looking tired... i think its more than likely been in quite a big crash and a full respray was needed so it was just done in white.

Surely impossible to say without seeing the car, checking HPI for dates, speaking to the owner and seeing the photos. Not quite sure how you can decide your own version of events is "more likely" otherwise, Beau!

of course we dont know, but either way, a CAT D on a 4 year old car must be quite substantial damage.
