The new Vantage and DB11 have grown on me, but I don’t think they are as pretty or have the purity of design of the predecessor cars.

I also do not like many of the interior stitching designs now being used by AM - for me they make the interior look too fussy along with some of the Mercedes switchgear. The beauty of the Vantage/DB9 interiors was their simplicity and the use of quality materials, eg stainless steel, wood etc

100% agree.....The old Vantage and DBS/DB9 interiors look so much more classy than the one in the latest Vantage...Its too fussy......Love the look of the cars but interiors not quiet as special.........

Main dealer and warranty and 08 registered. They will negotiate on price and great people to deal with. Got my car from them. Service has been outstanding.

God stop it...You are posting all the cars I keep looking at.......I don't mind the N430 colour scheme but the V8 Silver decal at the bottom would have to go., This car came up for sale by them about a year ago and with the warranty they give has peace of mind. The blue interior will divide but I love it.

The only issue I have with the Vantage is that the one I sat in a few years ago was very claustrophobic, but that was a black interior on an 05 plate. From what you guys are saying, there has been a revision, so maybe that is different.

Not currently in a position to buy anyway. Need a new work horse first, will be doing intergalactic mileage in January so need a diesel pronto for much cheapness.
Just waiting for a few bits and I can get the one I have my eye on.

I was going to say Mark that they can feel small inside....They are a perfect fit for me and every time I've sat in one its just felt so right.. but if you are tall then I could see how it wouldn't be so comfortable. Remember Phil saying he struggle in one and could understand when I saw him get in one at Llandow.....It was like he was sucking himself off.

Wow..! - That really does work aesthetically...! I could live with the blue leather on that colour combination, no problem...but the steering wheel looks a bit sh1te in black Im afraid !
edit- D4mn...manual. All is forgiven !

Ive never sat in one but spent an idle hour looking round a feast of AM cars earlier thsi week...Generalisation here but Id agree the cabins are an expanse. Off putting from either side of the tunnel, Id say. (sorry- not a Brexit pun !) They arent short of controls exactly but it somehow "feels" like you they dont want you to touch anything !!? Tunnels are too wide also...as others have noted.

An excellent choice Robert. I am sure you will enjoy this car over the two year term. Whoever buys the QP is probably buying the best example out there.

It's comical really, having followed the market and preferences for cars over the years, different thing go in and out of favour.

Had a Porsche 964 once, dealers wouldn't touch them, now they're regarded as being iconic evolutions of the original 911 shape.

Also remember when Aston owners were all over the Granturismo!

Aston owners moving to Lotus etc.

It's a merry go round...just big boys toys and shifting tastes and perceptions.

I would have the manual rather than the sportshift even though change is slower. 4.3 feels slower than my old 4200 but reality is you need to use the revs as torque is not as obvious. 4.7 addressed that to an extent. Pedals feel heavy and a heavy change from the box but I guess it is kind of old school sportscar feel and it does feel as if the whole car is made from granite.
Sitting in it I felt the car wrapped around you. Odd at the start but got used to it. You feel part of the car. Black exterior and interior wouldn't help the claustrophobic feel but it is a common combo on them.
The silver V8 graphic isn't my taste but apparently is considered desirable by some buyers. Newcastle had a very similar car in nearly 2 years ago but was from memory an 05 with over 80k on the clock. They sold it in one week.
Sorry for mild threat drift Robert.

Fair play..Ive read the accounts from journos and owners alike claiming the cars were a little underwhelming..in line with the idea that displacement, for which there is no replacement, solved it !
Id still be interested to drive one. The video posted back aways had the guy saying the engine was simply over powering grip. Interesting is the way the engine develops the grunt.A different car, different engine (V12 as opposed a V8 )- but 4100rpms is where the 380 hp gets made by the AM 4.3 V8 unit..Its barely rotating at this point ! Clearly whole new dimension with supercharging into the mix but actually, nothing atall like my 4.2 M138 unit...!:)

Interesting thread.

I never really managed to get my head around leasing. And like rockits was always schooled by my parents to only spend what you have.

So what that meant was I bought a GTS and then lost £20k in depreciation over 4 years.

Never really occurred to me. It was only my second ever car and actually my first car I had ever sold on.

So would it have worked out better for me to lease it? Or at that price range actually to lease something more expensive and to have lost the same amount over the same period? Like an FF?

Isn’t “hindsight” the key to this......
You now know what you lost.
With these deals you are anticipating a future value (estimated) which you must somehow rely on as financial guide.
IMO, in these central bank manipulated financial conditions, two years is a very long time.
If the wheels come off, and there are signs they may be beginning to- a lot could happen to the downside.
Cheers Wattie

I've decided not to go down the V12V route. On reflection, I'm happy with the purity of my Exige S and the "GTness" of the GTS which feels pleasingly decadent as a daily driver.

You’ve captured both worlds very nicely with those two.

A good inspection prior to to purchase should help make sure that the wheels won’t come off. I think you’re right, though, that kind of of mishap would cause all sorts of damage to the underside. The sump would certainly be ******.
