An Observation

This is purely an observation (or I am being blind and missed it) or there might be a good reason for it but there is no 'General Chat' forum? Might this not be useful for non Maserati chat?

Also is the idea we can talk more 'freely' on this forum? Difficult this as most of you don't know me but for example if I wanted to say look guys I can organise something, it won't be free but it will be a special deal for forum members will I get jumped on for it being a commercial post?

I was really impressed by the response to the Castle Combe Stroke Day thread on the other forum, other forums I have been a well known member of for years showed no support at all, so I would like to get more involved but maybe some of this is a sit down over a beer with the appropriate people thing to answer?

Anything goes Robin that is member orientated, What the general consensus has been is that we didnt want financial implications affecting the member focus or direction of the forum itself , ie putting sponsor / needs focus above that of the ordinary member due to having to make ends meet , by removing the need to make it a going concern to pay for itself members can more freely say exactly what thier position is when satisfaction hasn't been forthcoming without fear of having there threads post removed , it doesn't happen that often thank god but its a bugger when it does and sometimes relieving to get its off ones chest whilst asking for advice , so go for it and put forward your ideas

What we are trying to do is make sure that all member chat together and not get bogged down in the section that only affects their model.

The main forum for the General Chat is LOUNGE/MASERATI CHAT. Use this and if it really is nothing to do with Masersti what so ever, stick it in the LOUNGE/HUMOR JOKES ill re name it to list other chat

You are encouraged to feel free to chat about what ever you want....from a Maserati point of view. If you have a grievance with a supplier and you can back up your issue, then it is left to your discretion what is and is not acceptable. We as moderators will not intervene unless we feel its really not acceptable.

"Anything goes Robin that is member orientated" well I am assuming we are all petrolheads so yes in that sense of course organising things that might not readily be available elsewhere, "from a Maserati point of view" it wont always be because by the nature of part of what I do we compete against Maserati......

To give you a slightly different example, a forum I am a founding member of that organises a lot of track days refuses to make use of the fact I can provide a highly talented ARDS licensed instructor who will come along for a minimal cost, the value to him is if you think he is good he wants you to recommend him to your friends - anything wrong with that? I can also now provide for the lady members and/or other halves a lady instructor if they fell more comfortable with that...... Lots of ideas but you get the sort of idea I hope
