On Facebook somebody( a foreigner) asked the question, why do the British think they're so important, they're just an insignificant little island.

I pointed out I was proud to be British, when the DEC launched the appeal for aid after the Turkish / Syrian earthquake the British people including £5m from the government donated £32.9m in 24 hours

We also sent specialist teams the same day

The total raised so far is £93m

people like to put us down but history speaks for itself , even the Romans and the Danes thought it was a good place to conquer ......and they were proven right , for the last 250 years the more significant islands have been tying to catch up without much success , feeling tired but victorious after the 39-45 we decided to take a quick break and let the Americans take the strain for a bit

Went to a stage production of “Notes From a Small Island” (Bill Bryson) at the Watermill near Newbury last night and the last few sentences of the book were used to close the show. Cannot remember them but they sum up our bit of the planet very well. Spoken over Vaughan Williams too. Book worth a read.

Can't, this week I bought a Nikon D3, sigma 120-300 f/2.8, sigma 1.4x TC, manfrotto monopod & a cf card reader for £600

People have migrated to Facebook marketplace because of all the **** you have to deal with on ebay, Facebook is, turn up, look at it, buy it / don't buy it, leave

It never bothers me what others think of where I live and this country to be honest. It’s not important to me but then I have never really been that patriotic so that may be why.

Nowhere's perfect, that's for sure. But I still think Facebook is what **** would be like if it were real...!

That said...sounds like there are some real bargains there!

Tell me about it! My wife keeps buying furniture (long case clock last month) and sends me off to collect it! To her credit, there have been so many excellent bargains (mint solid oak glass cabinet - free to whoever can collect!). Personally, i don't want to sign on as it will fill my email again with posts of what people had for lunch.....

Whole heartedly and every country has an organised legal process to do so , I think most people are for legal migration , its illegal migration that most have an issue with
Yeah, like all the people from Ohio who just moved to North Carolina. Folks who don't do right on red, and have stop signs at the end of on-ramps. I demand stronger borders on I-77!
