Alternator Failing

Hi all,

My alternator is failing it seems, has anyone here replaced their alternator themselves, it looks a like a fairly straight forward 'nuts and bolts' job.

And no, there is absolutely no garage on the island of Ireland I would trust with my car!

Thanks,

Pat

If you do replace it buy a new one, I've done a few over the years on various cars and I've had nothing but trouble with reconditioned units.

If you've got the tools it's just nuts and bolts , it's getting the right tension on the belt that's the only factor really

Having said that I've never done a Maserati , is there plenty of room round it

If you do use a garage let them supply the part unless the difference is mega bucks , then if it breaks they won't be charging you to take it off

Inlet manifold off and plenty of room whilst your doing that check your rocker cover gaskets aren't leaking at the back.
Oh you will have to remove wiper motor and rear scuttle covers too.
