Alternative Lambda Sensor

You could buy a standard Bosch sensor and splice the wiring or de-pin the plug and swap over.

I did some cross referencing on this some time ago and my car at least uses a Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor which are pretty standard in the industry. You can buy a Ford one for £35 and it is just a case of sorting the wiring.

I should add that is for a 5 wire sensor, a 3 wire is different again

I got one like this http://r.ebay.com/PESnzE

I haven't got round to needing / fitting it, so I would happily donate it to prove my point! :)

Deal :)

Lob it in the post for me? Exchange for relevant beer tokens

Having said that, we should probably makes sure this is a sensible idea

I have an intermittent P2629

Could be a number of things but do we want an unproven solution as a test for that issue?

Question 2: Are they easy to swap sans ramp do you think?

Cheers

As you say, the code could be a few things but most likely is that the sensor is going open circuit as the pumping cell breaks down.

I will check my workings again, but Bosch only have one spec sheet for the LSU sensor and 1000s of variations in the catalogue of plug type and wire length.

The outfits that sell universal 5 wire sensors will tell you, it's the same sensor, just a Ferrari plug that makes it expensive!

Oh, and swapping it is either going to be a) easy or b) a complete pain. A long bar is useful apparently.
