Am I surprised?

I guess sales and development if other cars are taking precedence. ..so at least we get to see their current 'stylish' new mkdels and the new 4x4

Would have loved to have seen the Alfieri earlier.

But not all bad news for those wishing to trade up in three years time.

GTs, at least here in Oz, should hold their value better.

HR Owen told me that deliveries would be in 2017 when I placed my order - what's changed?

I think it's been knocked back 6-12 months but it's all speculation at this stage.

It all depends what you mean by launched - magazines we're road testing the GranTurismo 9 months before first UK deliveries.

I understood it was always 2017, which we all know means Easter 2018, 3 years to save up then.

....that doesn't surprise me either; they certainly know nothing about customer service or customer relations.

Well if I start saving now in 5 years I'll be 50 would make a great 50th b/present to my self. Then I'll hand the gs over to my youngest who will be 21 on the same day. Hmm can I do it

I'd thought when they made the 5 year plan presentation last year (link below) that the Alfieri was 'slated' for 2016, with the cabrio to follow. This was widely reported as a 2016 launch at the time, though to be fair I don't think Maserati ever actually stated this (IIRC). Even if it was a 2016 launch it would always be 2017 before it hit the market in any meaningful way.

I'm more curious about how they'll balance pricing against expected performance figures, which are shown in the presentation. It's not exactly blistering performance and so where they pitch it against it's competition will be interesting given that many comparable bhp's already begin with a 5.

Sadly I think you might be right about customer relations. They are blindly chasing numbers at the expense of innovation, passion and individuality. The only engine they can put in the Alfieri to rescue their total ineptitude concerning the market is the fully blown V8 that sounds like thunder and goes at least sub 4 secs and 200 or they just as well stick to the bland stuff.
