Well, it didn't turn out as great as I wanted it to, didn't do the mount up properly and the noise is horendous. Still learning how to use it. Still Jess sounds good :)

Fantastic pics sir! :numberone:

Thanks Nick,

Praise indeed from the Master! :)

I have some GTV parade lap onboard video but it's going to take 166 minutes to upload to Youtube. I guess I'll set it up while the F1 is droning away this afternoon and I'm dozing in the armchair!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (Yawn!) - Oh it's finished!

I wonder who won? Ross Vettleton I expect.

Sorry for the delay in posting, I blame the cyber gremlins who have really had it in for me and my computer the last couple of weeks!

If anyones interested at all in some hooligan driving, the link is here:

Includes an interesting missed gearchange when my mind was focussed on whether to further harass the poor soul in the French car or leave some space for a clear run on Quarry! :)

I also stand accused in that I may have inadvertently :) stolen an extra lap :no:

I humbly confess that I was never much good at calculus and was indeed inebriated at the time officer with the sountrack of the 'Busso' at 7K.

I rest my case gentlemen and hope to depart a free man. :f7:

Does need the sound Nick,
Best with a nice bass speaker for the busso and tweeters for the tyres!
Thanks for the edit,

Peter

Lovely pictures and looked like the weather was good...That 4C is just stunning.........Although there is a review in EVO this month where it is up against around 6 cars....2 series BMW, Porsche Cayman, Nissan Z and some other stuff and it came last....Another nearly Alfa that is so close to greatness...Shame as it is soooooo lovely.

Yes a lovely car!
Saw it on the M4 on the way to 'Combe and it looked like a Faberge creation sparkling in the sunshine, distracting everyones attention from the road.
Is it such a shame that statistically Alfas are not 'the best'?
I think that the late Top Gear got it right. Despite an Alfa proving last in a group test the 'three' drivers agreed that they would choose to buy the Alfa - but wouldn't recommend that a friend should!
There's a big 'X factor' involved I think - and statistics are for committees, not affairs of the heart.

Thing is, it's nothing like those cars, it's effectively a track car dressed up as a GT. It's closer to a 355 than a modern day comfort sports car.

It's a 4 pot that will do 8'04 around the Nurburgring unmodified ... so it has its own greatness.

Just spent a day out in it hammering around the Cotswolds, it's a fantastic point to point car and it's basically designed for that and the track!

It's too loud and **** around town, but those are the only real black marks in my book. Chris Evans gets it, now there's a proper sports car owner!

ps - it scores 4/5 in the original Evo review, which is pretty accurate IMO:

Pat think the car is lovely and as with all tests its an individual's taste...They also took along a V6 Exige which wiped the floor with all of them as it was sort of the benchmark......I did think some of the cars they put it against was a bit odd....

I imagine the Exige is the one car that would outperform the 4C on the track. But it does have the slight advantage of an extra 105 hp!

My 4C cost 45K new (with 2K of options). I've just looked on Pistonheads and the V6 Exige appears to sell for 60-65K?

Doesn't seem right to be comparing cars that are at noticeably different price points. Aren't the top end Caymans priced at around 65K also?

Funnily enough, lotustalk forum has an 18 page thread on the 4C, it's generated quite a lot of excitement with the lotus crew stateside.

Don't disagree Pat.....Exige can be had 2nd hand now for around 50k......The Cayman they used was not an S...basic spec car with the lower BHP.

There has always been lots of talk over here and the States on Lotus forums as the 4C is a car that most Lotus fans would want. Most saw it as an Elise/Exige type car. Lets face it anyone with an once of petrol running through their vain's would get very excited about something as pretty as the 4C.....light, fast and looks amazing...What's not to want.

The main thing they should sort out with the 4C is the cabin noise - it's bordering on the ridiculous. I understand the absolute pursuit to minimise weight, but they should introduce some mild creature comforts in the next iteration (if there is one).

If I were only allowed to own a single car, I'd never have a 4C - I'd take a Cayman instead. Ticks the 'all rounder' boxes.
