Would anyone know where I could get some linkages from? Specifically the one that goes from the throttle shaft down to the throttle bodies.

I have a part number of 60525238.

In the diagram it is part number 2.

Unfortunately those parts are no longer available so finding some may be difficult. I don't have any of those in stock I'm afraid, only numbers 1 and 3.

As a first port of call I would try Thanasis at http://alfa-restoration.co.uk/contact_us.htm, he has a lot of contacts and access to a lot of obsolete parts.

You could also try Peter: http://www.alfasud-parts.co.uk/catalog/index.php?osCsid=9a1113428282bc4af56672a2b58f1fc0

or maybe AFRA in Italy, they specialise in obsolete Alfa parts: www.afra.it

or closer to your home you could maybe try Turin Imports: http://turinimports.com.au//

or here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Alfa-Rom...ries&hash=item5aed5971f0&_uhb=1#ht_2578wt_932

or here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wrecking...ories&hash=item257d0fa2ce&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_949

if you don't have any luck let me know and I might be able to point you in the direction of some others who may be able to help.

Mate you are a legend! Thanks for that I will make a move directly.

Also who make coil overs for the 33? I have Koni Yellow's in there at present, but as the car seems to be set up for driving on the opposite side of the road, I want to set the thing up to
run on Australian roads. Any clue's?

No problem, let me know if you don't have any luck, I have a few more contacts you might be able to try.

Ok Koni Yellows in my opinion are too hard for road use and coupled with polybushes will quickly leave your bodyshell weakened with stress cracks, stiffer is not always better. Which springs are you running? For the 33, Eibach are the best but are NLA so the next best ones that are available are from H&R in Germany, their progressive springs give a decent ride for every day use and firm up nicely in the corners to reduce body roll. Suspension choices are all down to what you are using the car for or what you are trying to achieve. I think Whiteline in Australia used to make uprated ARBs for 33s at one point, that may assist with your handling too. I have an Eibach Pro kit front ARB and the handling was significantly improved, much sharper turn in and less roll. Unfortunately they have stopped making them now and they didn't sell many so your chances of finding one are remote.
If you want coilovers there is only 1 option and that is Intrax from Holland, luckily it is absolutely awesome stuff but very expensive, you are looking at around 2000 euros:

Interesting what you say about the car being set up for driving on the wrong side of the road, do you have any specific examples out of interest? One interesting thing I found on my car when dismantling it was that the rubber seats for the rear springs are different thicknesses. The thicker one is supposed to be on the driver's side to compensate for the weight of the driver but on my car it was on the left. I guess they didn't bother to swap them over for RHD but I have put the thicker one on the right on my car.

If you need any more info feel free to ask

With the poly Bushes, I have only put them into the Pan Hard Rod in the rear, Tie Rod's where they join onto the Steering rack, and about to change the ones on the sway bar, that's all that I am using poly for, I have a fresh set of rubber for everything else. I figure that it would be way too hard for the road as you say. The Koni Yellow's I have have been freshened up and softened back to the softest setting they have, seems to be that right balance at present.......I have been known to be wrong though.....actually more often than not but that's another story. As for springs, I'm pretty sure the front are the original springs and in the rear they are King Springs, which are an Australian brand from what i'm led to believe.

With your rubber that was thicker, where is that located?

The example I have goes to Dad's 90. He went through and did a measure up as the car seemed to be higher on the passenger side, and found that there was about 3.5mm difference. He went through and replaced almost everything in the suspension that affects ride height, springs and mounting rubbers. (He does mention that he didn't measure the spring seating rubbers, but had a look on Eper and said they are the same part number left and right)

We went and saw our suspension expert who works on most of the Alfa's in Brisbane and he told us it was because the car's originally were for the European market where you drive on the Right hand side of the road. He did the same measure on his Alfa 75 and came up with the same figure that it was out by.

Admittedly I have assumed that because my car sits slightly lower on the drivers side, (about 4mm Lower) that the same case applies to me, as I type this I realise I must sound pretty dumb in what I am saying, I don't know how to go about getting the right height in the car, unfortunately when I sit in the 33 (I'm not a small boy....100kg's) the thing looks like I have odd sized wheels on it.

Bloody ****, Dicky! You are a mine. What do you know about Sud Sprints? Planning on giving Mrs Catman hers back August 2014 after a period in storage :) I have Andy Ward on the case ATM, but any other thoughts would be cool.

Dicky,
That's looking brilliant..!! Are you going to leave the wheels the same, or do something with them, or put new ones on..??
Cheers

Hi,

Just read through from start to here, what a superb thread and it is great to see a 33 going through such an in depth rebuild.

I do hope to see it maybe next year in the summer at a car show perhaps??

A real credit to yourself and the passion you still have.

Sad to hear about the bad luck and the nightmare of getting your money back from the original bodyshop. It will be worth it in the end.

God Speed.
