There have been a number of posts about airbag lights in this forum. Some may relate to the 3200, and perhaps I've just been mistaken from the start, but I was under the impression that the airbag light on a 4200 needed a dealer MD-2 to reset it. I can confirm that whilst the airbag error is stored in the car, it can be reset with other diagnostics equipment, not specifically an MD-2.
Anyway, mine had both lights, illuminated, suggesting the deactivation switch was at fault). I worked the switch a little, on and off, with the key, then removed it and gave it and the connectors a good clean, took it to my local trusted indy garage who plugged in his Texa diagnostics kit, and it happily communicated with the car. It didn't recognise my car by the VIN that it read, but when manually selecting Maserati Coupe M138 it was happy to read, and do an airbag light reset. The error it reported suggested it was a fault with the switch as suggested too.
Obviously if I was mistaken, or if I'd read about a 3200 and just assumed it was the same for 4200, just ignore me.
If not, well, perhaps it suggests there is some more hope for the longer term survival of these cars
