A year with my 3200

Well the first anniversary of my time with a 3200 manual has come and gone and although I haven't done as many miles as I would have liked, she has performed faultlessly. I took her to Phil at PK Supercars for her annual going over and as usual, the service could not be faulted.
Got her back with a fresh MOT and looking forward to a summer of fun.
Because it was a small service and because no extra work needed done I thought that some of the 'war chest' could be used in the engine department to try to get her closer to where I'd like her to be.
So, inlet manifold, coil covers and cam covers were blasted and re-finished. The oil catch tank and cambelt covers were painted and a new header tank fitted. A new 'atrium' was bought and fitted as mine was cracked - it had been put back without the little spacers on the outside fixings.
All in all it looks much better.
I'm am compiling a list for next years improvements.

That's the good news. The bad news is that on the way back from Phils, a lorry threw up a stone and put a chip in my windscreen, so that will need to be fixed too.

That looks superb, I have mine on the list of "to do" jobs. I must admit that header tank does a lot in itself to spruce the engine bay up. Where did you get it from?

It came from Graypaul. Phil said they were still available.

Looks Stunning Gordon.
Nice work done by Phil and his team.
Shame about the screen but that's what insurance is for.
Enjoy your Summer :)

Thank you. I can't praise Phil and the team enough. After a good few unsuccessful attempts on mine, he says he can now do 3200s and will be doing his own soon. The chipped screen is just one of these things. The train arrived at my destination before the ticket guy got to my carriage, so I suppose it's karma.

Thanks Greg. Certainly planning to get out and about more this summer and hope to meet up with some of the guys on this forum.

Looks a good job, nice to see a clean engine compartment, changed my header tank last year and it makes a big difference I can actually see the water level now.

Thanks for the nice comments.
A clean engine bay makes it so much nicer to work on a car and I do think that a 3200 engine bay does look particularly good.
She is getting much closer to what I am aiming for - just a few more things to do - drivers side fog/side light, drivers side bonnet vent and number plate lights.

Beautiful engine!! What I like most is that you managed to use the crimple-paint not like some other refurbishers who have a glossy finish.
Now if you do the rubbers from the plugs, it will be 100%

Yup. The boots do let it down a bit but they will be renewed next.
Phil at PK had many attempts before getting it right. Now, he is happy enough with the results to start on his own.
