A night to remember

Once upon a time, this grumpy bloke – who thought that he never wanted a wife met this tall blond who he found was bit of a spirited handful ! Then, after 12 years of living together and shortly after his 60th birthday he changed his mind and over the 2 way radio's, which they used on their motor bikes…….he proposed to her. On November the 5th they sneaked off, with the minimum of fuss and in Poole with the required 2 witnesses they were married. Afterwards, a few friends from Weymouth gathered upstairs in Oriels for a bit of a nosh up. Surprise, surprise who should arrive but the new in-laws. Not expecting “dad†to make it up the stairs the groom rushed down the metal edged stairs to offer his assistance but first he had to give “mom†a big hug. What a plonker he turned out to be…picked her up, twirled her round and fell back against those metal edged stairs with “mom†on top. Fortunately, saving her from injury – apart from a few bruises but scuppering any chance of wedding night nuptials!! He was helped to his feet to find that his left arm had lost all sensation and there was a suspicion some ribs might be cracked. Being that sort of guy (!!!!!) he bravely put on a “no it doesn't hurt†kinda face and soldiered on. A splendid evening it was too………
The next day, a trip to the minor injuries unit confirmed the damage and fitted a really nice sling to his arm and gave him a bucket of painkillers. After a couple of days (without much sympathy from his new wife !!) he decided to try one handed typing to inform some more distant friends of the days spectacular events………and here it is.
And it's all true……you can just about span the keyboard with one hand to do the capitals or hit the shift key. Indeed a night to remember….I have a wife !

Congratulations Dave...

I'm 25 years married this year! As institutions go it's easy to get into, not always respected but I'm told it's very expensive to leave....

Cheers,
