Thank you for the picture Catman. Undercarriage checked, clutch priced up ready to order, battery on charge so we have made a start. A wash is planned for Saturday so I will get a photo over the weekend after he has cleaned her up a little as she is a bit mud splattered at the moment.

Regarding the clutch, please be aware that it is something that can not be changed at home. Well it can, but it can't be set up without the correct Ferrari/Maserati SD2 diagnostic tool once it has been fitted. Hence main dealer or specialist required.

If you are buying the clutch parts be aware that Ross at Meridian Modena and also Dick Lovett give a forum discount.

Looking forwards to seeing this Lady being put back on the road and hopefully it will end the Saga for Newton.

Mike
Many thanks, more reading and learning required I think! That changes our thinking, thank you.

Peter
We have a DL in Swindon, I will ring them tomorrow, thank you

Phil
Hubby is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to cars so I think Newton will be pleased when he sees the pictures

Thank you all so much for your help, really appreciated

I don't think Mike was saying you can't change the clutch diy , its just the setting up that requires an SD2 or 3 so as long as you're a confident mechanic it's possible but you'd need to make sure somebody is willing to set it up before you start

This might be of interest though I think you have to register to see the pictures

All good progress, yes when I said I'd be changing the clutch myself it would have been a forum project involving a weekend on my post lift with many forum members assisting!

When you got to look under it today did you check VERY carefully the coolers that sit behind the seat locations towards the diff, if these have been damaged by the multiple journeys on the fork lifts in the salvage yard you absolutely mustn't connect the battery back up until they are drained and repaired as you risk pulling dislodged cr@p into the F1 pump and valves etc. The pump will prime the moment you connect a charged battery to it.

The drivers side wing is in need of paint under the wraps but I think you already have paint plans for the other repairs the toe rags did ripping the filler cap off etc.

I think we will do a little more investigation before we do anything with the clutch :)
There are 2 radiator fins very slightly bent but no 'proper' damage so we are breathing sighs of relief.
I have sourced a new filler cap so that will be painted next week once the paint is matched and arrives.
He hasnt decided whether to remove the wraps or not, he likes them so they may stay on for a little while while he decides.
