Thats the way I am looking at it Frank. I am hoping that the weight comes of slowly rather than big gains instantly as it wont go back on as quickly.

Frankly I think *much* of the pseudo science around *many* diets is risible. 5:3 seems about as rigorous as anything else, *but* if it provides a workable framework to support for people in correcting their relationship with food / modifying their eating habits to promote healthy weights / body composition, then all well and good.
I wish you all luck.

You didn't do a lot of training in that 5 year period then..
Dave
Cman...its not a diet...whatever gave you that idea.
Diets are almost exclusively short term.

Which 5 years, Dave
When you were a slighty overweight... and obviously slower!
Which 5 years, Dave
When you were a slighty overwhight...
Hmm
I *think* the first photo was June 2000, I know the second was Jan 2001 so 6 months.
I wasn't actively training then *but* I only weighed about 2 stone less when I was (which was down to about 20-21 stone).
Common myth #756 in a series of several million: You need to be fit / skinny / anything else to fight. Real fights are over in literally seconds. Fitness is not really a factor. Couple that with someone who's inherently lazy, and a system which active rewards taking the path of least effort (it's usually quicker and speed beats anything else), I was simply eating enough to maintain.
Still freaked out the kids who came in, skinny as a rake and unable to actually exert themselves for more than a couple of minutes.
