He's put a phone number in which usually means I'll sell it outside of eBay , as long as you buy it through eBay and pay with PayPal you'll be refunded if nothing turns up
But if you do a deal outside of eBay and pay by bank transfer you'll get nothing
It does sound an odd item to scam somebody for though.
I'd find out what he wants then collect with cash, no deposit though, that's another con, leave me £200 deposit and it's yours .
A few years ago I was up at 1am when the phone pinged
Within 5 minutes somebody had spent £2000 on my eBay account , my address had been changed to an address in Florida
I got the money back easily enough , I dropped the local sheriffs dept an email informing them expecting little to happen
Bering in mind it would have been around 8pm their time when they got the email I was astounded at the response
Next morning I had a reply asking for more details , by that evening I had a detailed reply telling me it was a PO box rented from outside of the USA, they'd sent a detective to the address who'd informed the owner his boxes were being used for criminal purposes , they had the details of who'd rented it but as they were outside U.S. Jurisdiction they couldn't take it any further but did tell the owner they'd be keeping an eye on him.
I wonder what would have happened if I'd reported it to the UK police
