It is the metal pipe and they are replacing it with a new one, £360 plus VAT

Ok thanks; I was reading that as the usual 'It's for a Maserati; thank you sir that will be an extra 0 on the end or we have the seasonal special pull through with a Christmas tree if you prefer!'

o.k so it is the mass air sensor, any body bought one at a good price ? and where from.thanks paul & 4200 spyder

Either evil-bay for a cheap used one (not from Germany) or a new one from Eurospares. I seem to remember that there may be an equivalent part from the original manufacturer for a cheaper non-Maserati price but I'm sure someone will happen by and let us know.
