4200 or 3200 headlights

evening everyone,

i recently bought this left side headlight, but now i am not sure if these are for the 3200 or for the 4200.

any clarification would be much appreciated!

I've been in mine to change bulbs, they look very much like 3200, I took a picture of the rear, if I can find it I can compare.

Is there no build date embedded in the plastic?

Nope, its normally a series of 'clocks' or a sticker with the build date.

hmmm stickers have been removed.... does anyone have a picture of the backside of a 4200 headlight unit? thank you!!

I would imagine 3200 and early first generation 'non HID' 4200 lights to be the same.
The later 4200 and GS lights have those chrome plastic shrouds around the projector light unit, as a 'styling feature'!

They don't appear to be a shared part, at least according to the list *but*

The 3200 part number is: 980009927
The 4200 part number is: 980...927

So I reckon they are

The middle missing digits on the 4200 are for the colour, the 3200 listings has the colour and thus full part number with no dot dot dot!
So I think they are the same too as expected.
