And now for something completely different ... This is one very special car!

That is one cool car. Is it a UK built?
I can see 3 pedal too.

According to the literature shown in the ad, it was indeed a UK build - I have not seen this before, I'm sure I would have remembered it.

It doesn't appear to be road registered though which is a shame

Sadly, not for me. £55k is a lot of dosh for a bastardised 4200 that can’t be used in the rain.

I like it. Didn’t Maserati build a one off one of these for a motor show.

Certainly different but a terrible advert, £55k and they can't even take decent photos or provide even a basic write up of spec and history

It was built for Jodie Kidd to do a hill climb. It has uprated suspension and an ECU remap, and a few other tweaks. It’s unique, but I can’t decide whether it’s a bargain for a one-off car, or as per @BennyD says.

Was just discussing with Michael Ward from AI as it was revealed at one of their events he sent me some additional photos.

As a one off it will be worth what some one pays but anything similar from Ferrari or Lambo would be double the price or more

It's wearing the plate VB02MAS (photo 2, small plate on right side of front bumper)
It's got just over a years MOT, but is also registered as a grey coupe.
46k on the clock, some advisories on corroded brake pipes.

I must admit, I'm completely confused by this car. To me it's just a poor condition butchered 4200.
It's incorrectly registered, despite being a grey car it's red/white and appears to be blue under the bonnet. It's 55 grand, and they can't even be bothered to paint / wrap the hideous front bumper, which is different from the one in the Jodie Kidd show, so presumably it's had a front end accident. It has no racing providence, and the £75k build figure seems quite extreme to me too.

Also the description is ****, though I admit, I'm intrigued by how they took a 1,680kg car and made it 1,100 kilos. I suppose there will be a lot of weight in the interior, glass and roof, but 1/3rd of the cars weight?

They made two of these... One was a 3200 and another 4200 - correct me if I am wrong though

I saw this around 5 years ago now unveiled by Jodie Kidd at Brooklands Museum
