Love the combo....not sure on the wheels, they look alright but prefer the originals if the car has no GS bodykit

See how I see this one is that its a good place to put a GS front, rear and side skirts on as it already has the very expensive GS wheels.......Could be a nice little profect......

Be interesting to see with the GS side skirts without the GS bumpers.
Sometimes i feel the GS bumpers to be a bit fussy & more style over function. Although the same could be said about the side skirts of course.
Cheers

If it wasn't for those wheels I would have said that that was mine! £14k sounds cheap (grr!) must be mechanically poor ie missing history/ needs a clutch.

The owner is on MF and he doesn't now if it has had a clutch ...It hasn't in his ownership....I would not have thought at 50k it hasn't had one at some stage.

That looks like good value even pricing in a clutch.

Hi Paco and everyone,
Just an opinion so dont go crazy at me LOL!!
Im not so sure really. If just the clutch were the issue then you would be looking at approx £1880 but if spigot, clutch position sensor and thrust bearing were needed then add £1200+ to the pot.
In a worse case the car (if only clutch and parts is needed) would cost you over £3,200.
Add this to the asking price and you get £17,000. for a 2003 52,000 mile coupe.
Now also stated in the add is the Odd wording "service history" which to me is indicative of there being a sporadic history at best.
I mean we all rave if it has "Full service history" or "Full Maserati service History" being even better ,but we are short selling our car if we dont add this when it has it.... so i am right to assume that this car wont have either of these cherished properties?
its got nice alloys though! regards adam

Adam Im not saying you didn't pay those prices for that work , but i will add that all that work fitting clutch/release bearing/spiggot bearing/F1 sensor can be done at various places for very close to if not £600 labour ,all those parts can generally be found for around £1250 , so that will bring the total well below £2K in my book

Hi Loz,well i guess that depends on where your based ? I have had quotes from Meridian, carrs, emblem who are all within a reasonable travelling distance and they are all about the same.
Main dealers will charge £1880 approx for the clutch and labour and odds and sods.
i have 3 quotes sitting in my inbox and none would leave very much change from £3k if all needed to be done. I went with the most expensive quote as i felt i may get a better service.
I also spoke to another well known indy (no Names) who insists that all the parts are replaced whether needed or not and that is stated on the website. They also state that the clutch has to be balanced using the correct software but i dont know about that.
As i say maybe your skills and/or location would let you get it done for that price in an ideal world, but remember that some people have limited options due to location and there is no point in driving a V8 that does 16mpg on a 1000 mile journey to get work done as this not only costs a fair bit but would add another 1000 miles to the milometer lol.
I truly wish i could get work done for a lot less but try as i might i cannot find anyone who inspires enough confidence to allow to touch a maserati.

Anyway i digress...Is £16k for a 2003 52,000 miler with "service history" a good deal? I dont know.
warm regards Adam

LOL when i sugested collecting the car and returning it free to meridian the guy nearly fell over.
My easy option would be Carrs but after the last ommisions i the Big Main service i just didnt want to use them again.
however i remember someone saying i would rather the high price quote say "well i will give you a far better service" than just try to price beat the other quotes. That struck a cord with me.

Meridien are a special case - see themselves above the other dealers. Never the cheapest but in my experience (years ago mind) the service department was solid.

The definition of service history varies between individuals. Some dealers happily sell cars with FMSH even if the services were late on time and/or miles. Most punters don't really look beyond the number of stamps. The two section Maserati service book does not help either as it just adds to the confusion.

Rumour has it that you need to have a Coutts account before they let you in the showroom
