Hello guys I'm in need of new rear tyres since the beast is on 5 years old accelera tyres.

Very recently I replaced my front tyres
With Jinyu yu63 235/40/18
It's a high performance summer tyre that has a soft sidewall. an overall very comfortable yet grippy tyre at a fraction of pzeros

Now for the rears im not sure what size to get. but definetly not the 265/35/18
They just don't look right & ride harsh.

I'm stuck between
285/35/18
275/40/18

I'd Appreciate some inputs or a photo perhaps if anyone has this size tyre.

Actuall I highly recommend Jinyu tyres

I had them on my gt86 and have them on the front wheels of the 4200

I don't track the car just autocross & highway cruising..

It's the rear tyres I'm gonna swap out I'd like a beefier rear tyre but not oversize on the tyre wall..

If you notice at stock size the rears look stretched and have a thinner profile than the fronts.

As the saying goes. You can either buy cheap tyres, or decent tyres.

On a car with nigh on 400bhp I wouldn't be putting cheap tyres on it!

I wont even put cheap c*** on my van, let alone a high performance sports car. :banghead1:

I've done a lot research on decent Tyres and come to the conclusion that cheap tyres are trash, decen tyres have there pros & cons. But I wonder if a high end tire can have Ultimate grip but yet be comfortable

Jinyu tyres have a perfect balance the price is just a bonus!

Let's just forget Jinyu for now because this is becoming embarassing i

Some photos please on alternative rear tyre sizes

What's wrong with the 265? Other than you think it looks odd. Some manufactures will look different than others, perhaps try one with a rim protector built in.

The Dowside on Jinyu is the sidewall is soft, but perfect for autocross.
the soft Compound might be dangerous at high speed inspite its rating but grippy without needing to
warm-up

What's the load rating, as you are not supposed to go lower than manufacturers standard I was told.

I tend to stick to the sizes in the handbook. I base this on the fact that the manufacturer knows more about tyres than I do ;)

This is getting out of hand
Let's just forget Jinyu for now

Like I say, cheap != bad always. Often it does, but not always. I'd still be careful about moving away from the factory sizes.....

Tyres are the bits of car that are connect it to the road. An Obvious statement granted, but think about it? Tyres are designed to propel you forward, in an effiecient and safe manner.

I doubt that cheap sub £50 tyres particularly for rears can do that without compromise. A good trye will have a broad spectrum of grip in hot, cold, wet or dry conditions. Also factor in noise, rolling road efficiency and you cannot go lower than £120 for a non-discounted price for Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin, etc. Jinyu sound like some cheap chinese plastic my brother in law could get his hands on for a fiver!

they did inspire confidence with cruising speeds @180kph on a 1000km trip in my gt86.

But I definitely wouldn't trust these tyres at the Maserati's limit because there soft tyres

a different size tyre can change the dynamics of a car
But honestly the handling isn't it's best asset.

But thank you for the concern, tyres are the only thing connected to the road and shouldn't be dismissed..
