Thanks Nigelo- appreciate your comments. Will be getting 2x 5l Selenia Racing 10w60 ordered today, and will be sure to check, check and check again that what I am buying is exactly as you and the handbook have noted. Cheers for your input!

PS> What Ducati do you ride?? Mean machines!!

No probs.

My Duc is a 900SS of 1993 vintage, arguably the best looking of the lot, which I bought in 1996 @ just 1,000 miles. Following a 10 year layup I put it back on the road earlier this year. It's still only done 3,200 to this day. FWIW, Bridgestone BT016s have transformed the bike

hope this helps

Lovely bit of kit there Nigelo!! Must be a tough choice when those rare sunny days arrive; the Maserati or the Ducati..... although as far as tough decisions go, I'd be pretty happy having to make that one on a regular occasion!! :)

Yes, I have written extensively on Selenia for 3200s. This is not a question of what may or may not be suitable as there are several equivalents including AGIP Racing 10w60, but rather what is recommended by the factory and the fact that the 3200 engine was designed and developed using this oil. Put simply, other oils MAY be suitable but with Selenia Racing 10W60 there is NO doubt. Although I use Opie Oils for my BMW and Ducati bike lubes, I would take their comments above with rather a large pinch of salt - words of 2 syllables in the plural comes to mind

One final word of advice particularly if sourcing from Alfa dealers: There are actually 2 Selenia 10W60 oils but only one of them is suitable for 3200s and that is designated "Selenia Racing 10W60"

hope this helps

Nigelo, I tried to find your write up about oil on here, but its not here. I think it was on the forum over the road, any chance you can copy the content over here or give me authority to do it on your behalf?

Sorry Guys, I didn't realise the stupid autocensor is still actively cocking-up the above link to the Maser forum.

I agree - isn't it time this block was removed, given it's not a reciprocated block? The other forum isn't really a competitor to SM anyway as it offers different things (mainly the depth of technical info).

I'm guessing that we can only use the Selenia Racing 10w60 oil on the 3200. Interesting that Eurocar parts reccomends other brands like Shell Helix racing.

Is the consensus still to only use? Selena?

I want to buy a 1ltr bottle. Can anyone provide links to where I can purchase?

Haha I guess this is just one of those questions!! I'm guessing the 3200 is not a dry sump engine so I can check oil levels when cold and pour in at the same time
