Hi all. I still have recurrent issues with the CEL coming on after having sent and received the TB back from da.co.uk. Have also eliminated the pedalpot to be the cause. Am now toying with the idea of swapping out the old ECU with a Haltech 2500 (http://www.haltech.com/elite-2500-2/) to see if there is a difference. Has anyone done this before? What can be expected? For the purists, thoughts?

I like the idea of aftermarket ECU, I am sure it could be done, but I think the biggest concerns are that of what about the extra things such as, traction control, Dampers to sport mode, and talking to then auto box if you have one.

I think the cost and complication would be quite high, and then you would struggle to integrate some of the features over and above running the engine.

OEM sensors could be used by and large, and you could make up and adapter to the ECU main plug, or install a custom wiring loom.

Fiddly and a lot of work!

I say keep it standard.

Haltech or other ECU might be better if you are planning on heavy tuning, but even the standard ECU can be re-flashed and or live mapped from what I understand.
