you can get new ones i replaced both of my unit last year. That's the good news. The bad news is its either engine out or front subframe off to get them off. I suspect bits in your airbox is not a good sign. While living in Florida i once had a car that was not working well and after stripping it down discovered a lizard in the carburator, has gone for a nap in the air intake i suppose and woke up with a surprise.
