don't know the car but seems like a nice one. would inspect it, look it over and drive it if possible, check it runs smoothly, no dreaded warning lights, or better still have it inspected as there are huge number of possible pitfalls. They don't mention if the chains were replaced at the major service? i would find out as thats a big job. i think you will find both forums (or is that fori?) have buying advice if you search for it, i remember writing some of it so its there! any specific questions post some more.

If you go and see the car and it looks good on the pictures but they all do, check that all the warning lights actually illuminate when you switch on, you need to see them all, no blank spots, important!!! Then switch on allow all sounds to stop and start the engine. Check that oil pressure is at 5 bar and is charging OK at around 12/13 volts. If all looks OK, take it for a drive, in auto's when warm, ram your foot to the floor and let the revs come right up to check that you have no issues (watch your mirror). Check discs for wear or ridges, they should be drilled and vented. Check handbrake holds car on incline in neutral. If those points and the normal stuff look good, then you probably have a decent car. MUST check history and have full service record, look carefully at the stamps! Check engine bay for any signs of bodging, it should be clean and tidy. If you can get to it check the main cambelt for tightness.

I rather like that white one - but I think you'd have to drive it ironically for it to work out...

thanks for the replies (including the ones about the white thing - no offence if anyone is looking to buy it/selling it here)
I've been in contact with the seller, interesting history, seems quite legit after first contact, he's sending more photos over to me so if these look ok, and I understand the camera is always flattering, I may go to view.
understand about the due diligence, thank you for bringing this up though.
cheers for now.

All the best Mac, follow Parisian's advice and you won't go far wrong.

This car has all the boxes checked so should prove a reliable example.

I assume this is the car that took part in the Gumball rally, hence all the work beforehand?

Best of luck Mark, hope you get it at a good price and the car checks out with your independant inspection.

Yes Evo, although the seller told me he did the rally in a Ferrari in the end, but the car did have a whole load of prep work for it last September.

Looks like a lovely car, I am tempted myself - but it does need the chains doing.

I grew up in Pinner. Didn't realise it was now being called Pinner Village!

Small world!
Pinner seems to have grown over the years and as such te term Pinner Village now gets used for the central part.

In regards to the Maserati, I may have just bought some other Italian exotica which I will post images of later. I would still consider a 3200 if a very nice one came up for sale though.

Very true. Seems that people in Rayners Lane & North Harrow want to believe they live in Pinner! Probably something to do with estate agents.
