do you really think end float is caused by incorrect oil? i dont think so.... its a design flaw, nothing to do with oil.

mines got 5w40 in atm, everyone should stop being so hung up about it, others have used this grade with no issues too, think im going to go for 10w50 next oil change, what ever happens, wont be using selenia 10w60 in my car! :)

Your right there beau, the bearing failures have nothing to do with the oil, thats of course if It's changed regulary

Lets face it Selenia Racing is made it Italy by Petronas and the formula is at lest 15 years old...

Things have come abit oil wise since then! I've run the old 3200GT on Castrol Edge for the last 3 years with no problems what so ever

I use Mobil 10/60 fully Synthetic.. & has stopped valve chatter when priming after standing for a few days..

Oil can be too thin...

I think the issue with some other oils with a higher SAE is that they take longer to circulate due to viscosity and if thrashed from cold can cause problems associated with end float.

When my car is running ie in gear and moving the pressure sits at 5 bar. If I put it in idle it drops to 4 bar. I assume that 1 bar drop is normal.

Thats not normal Contigo, but It's most likely to be the oil sender resistance.....you can have3 or 4 senders and they all read differently...

What's not normal?

So it runs at 5 bar when driving and then drops to 4 bar at hot idle. I thought it was a worry when it drops below 3 or 2.5?

It's normal to loose a little pressure when warm; as viscosity decreases pressure falls or at least the resistive pathway becomes easier.

I found an old post on the other forums which Matt wrote when he had his 3200 and it states..

COLD: 5 bar idle, 5 bar speed
HOT: 3-4 bar idle, 5 bar speed (HOT idle, I get 3 bar in the summer and 4 bar in the winter)

what I'm seeing in mine just now.

Well, mind never drops off 5 bar even when ticking over for 10+ mins in 40 degree heat
(Madrid last August) ...Like I said the oil senders are notoriously inaccurate
