Got into my car yesterday stereo would not work. Desided to investigate today; took it out and noticed a bit of moisture at the back and when I looked at the AC unit above the stereo there was a drop of water at the seam. I have been using the AC a lot lately to de mist the windows so I suspect the drain is blocked! Took the stereo apart and the drip was straight on to power chip on the PCB..... Thinking that the chip was blown, looked it up and found out the output stages were protected against short circuit so got in with the hair dryer ( not mine, its my wife's...), cleaned the oxidisation on the pins and it all works again!!
Need to find the AC drain now......
