Guys, after changing over fitting my discs, I realised I should have painted the section that sits over the hub, now very rusty and unsightly.

Best to wire brush off, rust convert remainder and paint with which grey finish?

Cheers,.

P

I've been very busy recently, but I was going to post exactly the same comment! I havent had this problem with the OEM disks I have on the rear, or any other discs I have fitted to any other cars. I was beginning to wonder if I should be worried!

absolutely - If I recall all these are free P&P as well. Cheapest price you'll pay for a full set is in the region of £323 from what I can see, put a bit of bilt hamber anti corrosion paint on the hubs and they'll look well tidy

Does anyone knwo of brake disc actually in stock?
Just had nice call from head of Brembo UK - informing methere was a lack of discs since May this year dur to, "OE takes priority". Ther might be some in production now, but not confirmed. Slight chamce they might be in UK mid December.
There are 70 sets (in Europe) of rear disks on back order for 550 (surely this includes 3200/4200 as manufacture is surely identical). Maybe we get some made?

Rob, you tried all the 2/3 online suppliers?

Doubtless there been a bit of a run on them since we spotted the exactness of the discs.

Not sure about getting them made though ie if cost effective.

Not tried them yet - but will start the wild goose chase.
Bear in Mind Brembo themselves had zero stock since May this year, so I am not hopeful that someone still has stock.

I wonder if Brembo are strangling the aftermnarket, to make us all go back to main dealers. I do hope not, as that would be most unfriendly and against EU law

Apparently Ferodo make the Ferrari 550 disc Rear DDF1075 and Front DDF1074.
Can't find online spplier of this alternate part. Would rather stick to Brembo anyway.

Rob,

checked suppliers online and no joy, its frustrating when they are advertised for sale and you phone up to check stock levels and they come back saying that there is nothing. Graypaul Edinburgh didn't have stock and the impression I got was that they are on the same boat as ourselves but they are checking for me. You are also right about the Ferodo alternate but like you say no supplier to be found. My only option at the moment is skimming my original disks as I need the car in December.

There is an option for rear discs - buy from Claudio at Eurospares, in stock at present.

Genuine Maserati items at £184 EACH

Sorry, don't know the answer to this specific question...

Those assembly numbers (33717 / 33718) also appear on other parts such as front and rear wheels, but I do not know what the significance is...normally a note on an assembly part number change would imply an improvement between the old and new part.

There are posts on ferrari forums that mention that 575 disks will fit a 550 and are much cheaper...I have no experience of this and have not looked into it!

I looked through my workshop manuals to see if I could find anything that would help, but unfortunately not...
I can post this pic of the specs they list, but it's just the basic dimensions...
