Hi all, I thought I'd post a quick update of my experience with my new (to me) 2013 Granturismo Sport after a few weeks of ownership.
Anyway, firstly here she is...

I love the colour and it attracts a lot of attention everywhere it goes. As you will all know already it sounds absolutely epic in Sport and is quiet and refined in standard mode.
Despite my brain telling me otherwise, I went for the MC Shift gearbox because I am a bit of a 'driver'. Whilst it really is no match for the double-clutch transmission in my recent BMW M3, after some getting used to it's not that bad. The biggest pain is the on/off jerkiness at low speed especially if I'm trying to back into a small space. The clutch also judders a little when cold so I wonder if it's a bit worn already after just 19k miles.
I never really use Auto instead using the paddles all the time and I really like the thumping shift at full pelt. I do find the gearing a bit odd though as it seems fairly long geared in 1-5 and then low geared in 6. As a GT, I would imagine the Auto is better suited to it for most but I'm glad I chose the MC-S even if it will be harder to sell a few years down the line.
The car has just came back from the Nurburgring and was just great on the road around there and the Eifel mountains. The car is big and weildy but can be hustled along these roads keeping up with the 911s, AMGs and M cars I went with. The brakes are (as with many cars) the first casualty for fast road use and I'll be looking to upgrade to braided lines and decent pads / fluid in due course. They wouldn't have lasted on the 'Ring and the car is not really suited to that kind of work so I hired a track car instead (Megane RS265).
It was a sunny weekend at the 'Ring and was absolutely packed. The noise made everybody look up and I lost count how many times I got the thumbs up. The group I went with all voted it the best sounding car of the weekend despite seeing some pretty awesome exotica.
On one trip back to the hotel in Adenau I took a short video from my iPhone. With that menacing front mouth and screaming V8 bouncing off the trees it didn't take long for the Porsche Boxster to pick up the pace - https://youtu.be/9FhnpQpgK60
As most blokes I've yet to read the manual yet so have no idea how work things! How do I get get digital rev counter to work???
All in all, it's been a great few weeks and I'm looking forward to many many more!
