We walked by a 2007 vantage this evening that was bloody close in colour to my gs. My wife piped up "that's my next car".
I'm not showing her your web site !

For me one of the pretties best proportioned cars ever made......I would go for a 4.7 N420 and if I was flush an S or the subline V12 Vantage.....Early 4.3's a bit lacking in power these days but what a shape....

The early ones are 4.3. When you first drive one they can perhaps feel like they don't quite have the low down grunt, but they're quite misleading as the power delivery is very linear and they're very refined inside. My Vantage felt streets ahead of my 4200, but it still lacks the kick of my manual 3200 (even though on paper they're similar). The balance and poise means the Vantage is definitely quicker, but it's nowhere near as lairy - I used to love the twitchiness as the 3200 put the power down! I've said it before, but having had them all back-back you just don't get that same intoxicating craziness with the auto 3200 or the 4200.

That black one with 42k is a great value GS Dicky - shouldnt hang round long at that price.

It's amazingly good value, absolutely mint car, drives spot on. It's only that price for a quick sale but I reckon everyone's too busy enjoying the summer weather and rightly so. It will go soon but as yet still available.

IMO, the trouble with Astons is that they all look alike. A great design spoiled by too many 'look alike' follow on models. A close friend who is a quick driver rated his early Vantage as 'great to look at but cr4p to drive'. He went back to Porsche and now has a Carrera 4 GTS which is streets ahead. As for Vantages being 'streets ahead' of a 4200, all I will say is that I've never had a problem keeping up with one on the motorway or on the twisties. I have even held my own against well driven DB9s and DBSs.

The forum has known for sometime Ian..............you'd never let one of those fancied up Fords get a jump on you!!!

You're right though...4.7 would be the one to have! Think I'd actually prefer that to the v12!

It would be an easier car to use every day Nig especially at the fuel station......I would love a N420 Roadster......The best Vantage set up chassis to date. They got it just right and its know to be just as goof if not better than the Coupe. Its not often a road test recommends a convertable over a Coupe but in this case it happened.........Think they got it just right plus the nicest set of wheels to.

Been staring at Richards stock page for a few days now - perhaps fortunate (or not!) that it is so far away as I am sorely tempted by a GS/facelift 4200 GT and all the stock looks great.

The man maths on the Black GS with 42k isn't far off either

Go for it before someone else does. You would regret it if it went.

As Benny says.......if it ticks the boxes, has clean bill of health.......a car as nice as that might well take another year to appear..........theres limited choice TBH and time is not on your side..............you know it makes sense
