Looks like the "new" model has a 21st century ICE system. Praise the Lord.

That's it though by the looks of it. Wonder how long they've been working on that......

The photos of the fit are not flattering, but it is meant to look better in the flesh.

Not long really, same system as in my Grand Cherokee loaner in North America recently. Workstream goes something like this:

-go into FCA stores cupboard and get a few screens and knobbly rotary controller things;
-bash bigger hole in dash;
-put telly in;
-squeeze a/c controls into the tiny space below;
-put a few random knobs near the gearstick;
-delete the ashtray/cigar lighter;
-shrink wrap said rotary controller thing into aforementioned smoky hole thus making it impossible to use in RHD unless you have an Italian length(part) arm.
Inside job done.

Outside, slightly tweak the GT MC that has been for sale in North America for a while, bring it to Europe and pretend it is a new car. Job done......now work out why you have not been busy over the last three years putting the V6 petrols and ZF 8 speed box into a coupe body on the Ghibli chassis....because if they had like many Maserati addicts I would have bought one as long it was 'built' at Modena to differentiate it from the plebby Turin cars.
