Is everyone aware of the pre meet in Chichester this weekend / Daves 50th?

Anyone who knows my copilot Dave Rose is welcome from past or present trips.

Helen (Mrs Rose) and I only expected a few of you to turn up but it looks like it's going to turn into quite a night.

Contact me for details.

Would have liked to have come down, but I am unsure how much Giallo will rinse me for my Maser so will not be able to make it I'm afraid.

Always good to receive the ACO pack although the boy knows it and grabs the poster and stickers for his bedroom wall

Ok, about time for an update.

1. You should all have received an email asking for money....its my most hated part of organising these trips so can I ask the you pay me promptly. If you have not received the email, can you let me know and Ill text it to you.

2. All 21 ferries have been booked and paid for, thank you.

3. The route:

As you already know, this year is 'all change'

After last years debacle at Calais and our introduction to the immigrants and their rock hurling exploits, this year we are going Portsmouth/Cherbourg. This new route opens up a whole new area of France to us and the milage and time to get to Le Mans is greatly reduced. We were anticipating Mont St Micheal for the first night but the hotels there are only interested in a minimum of 2 nights stay with half board so thats a non starter.

David and I are off to do the advanced trip and sort the hotels in the coming weeks. The new plan is still lunch in Anse de Brick just us the road from the Cherbourg Port by the seaside then head off to Fougeres for night 1. Its a stunning medeavle town and I am just negotiating with a couple of hotels at the moment. The Best Western don't have 'Garage Prive' but there is a local car park next door. This is a very quiet (or it was until we got there) French town, is it a no no for us to park in a public car park?

Fougeres is stunning:

The second night, we are suggesting going just South of Le Mans to Saumur and stay in the Mecure. Its a place we have not been before as a group but David and I have and again, stunning. The other bonus is its only half hour to the Gites!

Not wise to park all the cars in a public car park ...You never know when jelousy will strike in the minds of the local youths .Especially in the middle of the night .

We could put Benny on a chain and let him guard them all night though ?

And is there any reason why i can t open any of those attachments ?

The hotel does have 6 spaces, one for me and one for David, the rest of you can squabble amounts yourselves.

The pics seem to be working now after a page refresh.

If memory serves, there's some good Departmental roads in that part of France, fast and deserted. Which is what I love about France, Benny too, no French.

Matt , I think you need to reinstate the Le Mans count down clock !

Yes, I suppose the time is upon us...next week, only 4 month till the off, its will be here, done and gone before you know it with only that jet lagged feeling, advanced liver failure and an empty bank account to remind you, you actually went!
