Well, it's a kind of clear blue liquid that's a bit thicker than petrol. However, on track the 330D was surprisingly competent and it was certainly holding its own against sportier machinery. The 335D I now have would be even better, quite a bit better.

BM diesels are, IMO, very, very good. The only diesel I would consider changing to is the Ghibli. If its good, I'll get one, if not, I won't. I really hope it is.

No idea. However, modern diesels are getting better by the day and I hope they put a comparable engine into the Ghibli. If it floats my boat I'll have a look if not, I'll stay with BM.

I'm more concerned with the power and torque, especially the torque. The more the merrier and if it's responsive to a chip tune, so much the better.

Everyopne needs to do the ring at least once.....(Not talking a sexual way before any one comments).......but best to go with a track day organiser if its your first time......Its a great place and weird driving fast on what feels like a road in most places...Plus all that history.

Impressive lack of damage to both of you especially with folding pegs.

Full set of Kawasaki crash bungs saved the day! They were completely worn out. highly reccommended to everyone..........
And a very flat exhaust can! That was it!

I have a very warm backside aswell.............(that aint me in the picture, it was a fellow rider who helped pick it up)

Were you taking the picture from the ambulance then..?? Riding sitting on a hot water bottle is novel, or were you practicing sledging without a sledge..?? :auto178:

Have done the ring twice, 15 laps and even then, I was struggling to remember the 150 or so bends. I took the CS, not a smart thing to do. You can't get insurance, and chances are, you'll get hit by a car worth £300.

If you must do it, drive a car you can afford to loose. Go with an organised group & get some tuition & don't go out on a wet track.

Good advice, a friend of mine lost his Porsche there, a total loss and he had driven the course loads of times..!!

on the Merc forum this was the cost of crashing at the ring (excluding the car) - 5K!!

Base fee for attendance of armco truck: €150
• Removing damaged armco: €10/metre (x2 or x3 or x4 for multiple-height sections)
• Replacement armco: €31/metre (x2 or x3 for double/triple height)
• Removing damaged armco posts: €5.10 each
• Replacing armco post: €39 each
• Safety car attendance: €82 per 30 mins (car + 2 people)
• Circuit closure: €1,350 per hour
• Recovery truck: €190 (inc VAT)
• Hospital stay & air ambulance: Let's just say, do NOT go there without travel insurance! (Though a European Health Card - which replaced the E111 - may cover the hospital bit.)
Everything except the recovery truck is then subject to 19% VAT.

Ive been working with a client on new gen diesel engines - 2ltr supercharged and turbo charged, not 4 cylinders, ceramic (not graphite) used all over the engine - 20% lighter and easily up to 300ps, cant say the manufacturer but its a fantastic engine, faster combustion and 3000bar injector system.
