Hi Guys,

Ran into this looking at the 2008 GT thread started by Alfatan

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MASERATI-...869&pid=100010&prg=1013&rk=2&sd=360584658115&

Anyone know anything about this car? I'm in Oz and would be interested in doing an import with the right guidance and advice from Forum members. Price looks attractive even with repairs, especially with getting the VAT back...

What would be the shipping and taxes coming back into Oz? I've got a rough idea, but I'm sure some Oz members have specific knowledge. From what I can see, importing CAT D is not an issue..

Cheers

Jon

Mate i'm pretty sure you cant bring GranTurismo's into OZ unless it is a personal import (i.e. not through a RAWS)

Interesting. I had a feeling that some water might have passed under the bridge by the time I saw this.

So how come the GT is not on the SEVS/RAWS register? Can it be put on the register somehow or is it the good old Oz protectionism racket in force?

GT post the cut off date of Feb 2007 from memory, 4200 series being the last and the F360 also

No chance, the importers wised up after the flood of imports manufacturered upto 2007/8 and their more recent vehicles are "protected" under the classificatin they are volume sellers

As always where there is a will there is a way...... You can bring it in if you dis-assemble it and bring it in as parts...of course I don't know anyone that's done it....

First RHD GranTurismos were built September 2007.

I don't think it's year driven, that's just an outcome. It's driven by whether the car is classed as a full volume or low volume and that's model specific. Pity as I would have a GT in a heartbeat if they could be had at a sensible price.
