Auto worth less than the MC shift...and those miles will be knocking off at least 7k

Obviously I know little about maserati's that's why I'm picking the brains of owners on here

Some of the most reliable cars I've ever owned had more than 100k on them , it was explained to me once that components are expected to have a service life of a set length but that service life is based on them being run at temperature, ie grease and oil is thinner when warm so lubricates better, most things run better when warm

A motorway car has less wear on the steering and suspension not having spent its life at 20 mph on the countries speed bumps and the engine oil is nice and hot

When I look at a car, history and condition are everything so a high miler wouldn't put me off , that could be a 32k car with a bit of negotiation

IMO that is strong money for those amount of miles. Lets say you own for 2 years and stick 15k on her, what price could you really resell with 95k miles? I personally wouldn't pay anything over 20k. The GT S's haven't bottomed out yet, I suspect the next 6-8 months will be worth waiting for.

Let's hope so

At 20k it'd be the cheapest in the world

I'm getting that cheesed off waiting I'm might think sod it , cash the lot in and buy what I really want

They are a lovely looking car, if slightly big. But there are so many for sale, five times as many GTs as 3200s, 4200s, or GSs.

I can't find one anywhere for under 30k unless it's been wrapped to look like a drug dealer owned it or it's had a bump , even the early 2007 GT 4.2 cars are 30k +

Whether they're selling at that is another matter

Of course you won't, I'd say its correctly priced 20k is dreaming frankly, you won't have a 4.2 or 4.7 for that money unless something is seriously wrong!
But thought you wanted a QP? You seem to be looking at everything now?

I want a GT but only have QP money

A lot can happen in 6 months , iiI'm going through everything I don't need to see what I can sell to up the available funds.

I'd be happy with a QP because I love big saloons but miss having a coupe, the GT is so flexible in that it's one of the few coupes that'll comfortably seat 4 adults

Fair enough, well best of luck. Im sure you'll be pretty pleased either way, been in a couple QPs now and they really are a pleasant place to be...
I saw that GT last night and considered it briefly, for me it would have to come slightly cheaper to give me a little bubble for bushes/joints etc likely to need addressing at that mileage, but it's a well specced 4.7 auto for 4.2 money, as a keeper...nothing wrong with it subject to inspection and clean bill of health

That's the dilemma , I'm just dreaming , there's no way I'll have 35k to spend on a GT because there won't be anything left to run it

That QP in the first few posts looks a steal at 14k , the thing with quality cars is they never look their age which is why everybody thinks you're minted when in reality it's fiesta money

having had a low offer from said dealer for my GS, I dread to think what the former owner was offered.

I'm very surprised to see a car with such high miles at a main dealer, as the cost of putting a factory warranty on that must be extortionate. Can only imagine they bought it in as a part ex very cheaply.

But with the warranty it could still make a good buy for someone looking for a weekend car to only use for a few thousand miles per year. But even then, the purchase price would have to start with a 2, not a 3.

I'm somewhat surprised to see people thinking this car could be had for a price in the 20's, surely it's a shock to even see one sub £40k?
The mileage to me is testament to their reliability and you are buying from a respected MD too. It's a well spec'ed car and I think at a very fair and attractive price. I think we'll see more & more at this mileage in the next year or two

Surely supply and demand will come into it, there are 100s of GTs for sale, which surprised me.

You're right. And it surprises me too how many are for sale at any one time as you rarely seem to see them, or at least I don't anyway

I drove 60,000 miles last year, all around the country and to London 2-3 times a week

I didn't see a single Maserati let alone a GT

I think owners just sit on their drives with a pink gin looking at them

I would hope as its being sold by a main dealer any issues would have been resolved before the price sticker went on

Pretty poor show if they've taken it in PX, washed it and driven it round the front
