That it is the current pre auction bid. Members can pre bid up untill 11 or 12 on the day of the auction. This becomes the startin bid when the vehicle is up for the live auction. The live auction generally lasts between 30 seconds and 2 minutes wih bids coming in very fast with many coming from eastern europe. My next door neighbour buys and repairs about 6 a year from copart generally low mileage older stuff with mainly panel damage. in fact we go a Smart car for my office as a pool car. 59 reg 10,000 miles £2800 about £500 for plastic panels and a couple of other bits and a bit of paint . Happy days!
It's a weird system, when the car first came on it had a price tag of around £5K, then it dropped to £150 and has gone up from there to £1850, so is that the current bid and we forget about the £5K starting point..??
No I have not bid yet and don't really know if I'm interested enough to do so. I don't like the hassle and the colour is not fantastic, but I will keep watching..!!
Rob, I was very very close to bidding last week but i've had a super busy work week which has got in the way. The time of year for this is terrible as I can't get down there to view it pre-auction. My thoughts are that there will be another so patience is the best bet here. I also think they are still depreciating so getting that car on the road for say £9-10k might now be cheap enough unless it's a keeper. Too many variables for me this time but if you're game and I guess if you can afford to lose some cash should you be forced to sell via copart if it's a dog then it could be worth a punt.
I expect a reserve of around £10k . Am going to be having a go. Will be good to drive to be able to take both kids out rather than one at a time in the Spyder. My only worry is that previous bad not a bodge and the chassis is straight. The panel gaps look reasonably good and the bumper repairs are neither here or there.
Go for it Blue although I think 10k is too much. Once you factor in repairs and a good service ( maybe clutch, brakes, tyres) then you might as well buy one without the Cat. 8k Max IMHO.
