My electric boot latch stopped working yesterday. After some examination, I discovered several wires contained in the rubber housing, between the boot lid and car body, were either broken or badly pinched. I repaired the wiring and all is well again. I would imagine this could be a common issue as there is a pinch point here, where the boot lid is closed.
