Uninsured vehicles
Vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers.

What about Vehicles wrongly parked? Dont they bother with them?
Looks like a drug car to me. Cheap 05 car though. Service history is easy to find out.
Worth a punt Frank.

I'm sure I remember this car in the local rag being seized in a drug raid in Leeds. It was quite some time ago as I had my QP at the time which I sold last December.

If its gang related, Court case, could of lasted a good while. Car would not be released, until after judgement.
In that case, absolute bargain.

Andy.

unless previous owner has stashed a kilo of cocaine in the car. It's OK - he'll probably only hire Javier Bardem to recover it...

The upside; could be a good buy. The downside; you might also get shot in the head, waiting at traffic lights, by a former 'business' rival.

CAT N refers to Insurance group.

Er, I think we knew that. The q was, how is category N defined? We normally see only B,C D and X. In this case I think it means Non-salvage. Other sites seem to use category U as well. A bit of Googling led me to this http://www.bluecycle.com/about-us/important-information-buying which might be helpful (finding a definitive answer from the ABI site seems hopeless):
“Salvage vehicles in Categories B, C and D are categorised as per the Association of British Insurers Code of Practice for the Disposal of Motor Vehicle Salvage. Categories X and U have been introduced by Bluecycle to assist the buyer when purchasing vehicles outside of this. The categories can be defined as follows:
B: Heavy damage, chassis bent. Not repairable, to be broken for parts and sold to specially registered buyers only
C: Repairable vehicles where the insurer's repair costs exceeded the vehicle's pre-accident value
D: Repairable vehicles where the insurer's repair costs did not exceed the vehicle's pre-accident value
X: Stolen and recovered vehicles with minimal or no damage
U: Vehicles not owned by an insurance company that may have sustained damage.
N: Non salvage vehicles taken in part exchange.”

Er No, the letter N generally applies to the security code regarding the cars Thatcham approved status. You will see this stated in a lot of the supercar ads. Nothing to do with the salvage status.

Hi Guys,

First post, recently joined the Maserati fraternity with my GT S MC Shift and very very happy so far

Back OT

I gave MotorHog a call and this car hasn't been categorised, the Cat N referred to is purely

Category N: Motor vehicles with at least four wheels designed and constructed for the carriage of goods.

Anyway looking forward to many more posts!
