20 mpg is what the Spyder seems to do on a regular basis, never get much more but it wasn't bought for its fuel efficiency

200 mile trip yesterday, clear dual carriage ways, high'ish cruising speed plus some blasts out of roundabouts = £60 of premium fuel, trip comp said 18.5 mpg.
My daily commute is around 12.7 -14.3mpg ( makes friends laugh when point something or 1 mpg is relevant to me :) ) although if I've been on a long run the trip says 17-18 even after a reset, must take it a while to recalculate ?

The other day the trip would not indicate any higher than 16.9 mpg, I was crawling through 20 miles of 50mph roadworks on the M1. Thought this can't be right. Reset the trip and it jumped up to 22! Sometimes it can get 'stuck', so don't always trust it!

Often I have been forced to extract maximum MPG from my QP, not for the greater good of the planet, or monetary reasons, but due to a lack of service stations being open in the wee hours here in the ROI.

With A/C off, Sports off, soft gear changes and very light foot on the go pedal, I have recorded 27.5mpg. When the fuel gauge reaches the bottom line, that is it. No second chances.

Isn't it a rolling average? When it's reset, the figures jump up and down wildly, eventually settling down. After a few miles, booting it or driving with a featherlight foot make virtually no difference to the figure displayed until quite some distance has passed, whereas in the first few miles after a reset, it makes a huge difference.

+1 as per Drew's post about the mpg figure being a rolling average. You need to reset the trip computer each journey if you want to know the mg for a specific journey, otherwise it will work out the mpg based on since it was last reset.

It does not really bother me what I get either in the GS, but if I need a quick run somewhere for something, I would rather 24mpg than my Jeep which drops down to 11mpg on ocassion..!!
