Well Melbourne really turned the weather on again today, reaching around 20 or 21 degrees on a Winter's day with blue sky and sunshine.
The sort of day when you chamois a car after washing and it actually dries!
So I got the AC out, gave it a good wash, and then went for a short drive to dry inside and out.
As I was leaving the father of the lady that lives next door arrived in his 1938 Alfa Romeo.
It is a truly spectacular car, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, that the owner has regsitered on standard plates so he can drive it whenever he wants!
It recently won the historic section of the Targa Tasmania, and not for the first time.
I thought you might be interested in a few shots:- 004.jpg- 001.jpg- 007.jpg- 006.jpg- 005.jpg

He also owns this beautiful Delage (not sure what year it is, but in the 1930's as well I think), a Lancia Aurelia B20, another vintage Alfa Romeo and a few other things.
I love when he visits, but I suspect my neighbours are sick of me sniffing around!
That is my eldest son (Lachlan) in front.
The owner asked him if he wanted to go for a ride and he was too shy to say yes; pity he didn't ask me!
Sorry about the quality of photos; these ones were taken with the camera on my phone.

The Alfa's nice and the Delage is just scrummy with those body lines (can I say body line on an Aussie thread?). Mind you, that old Mas doesn't look too bad either!

That AC is lovely.....i miss seeing her....must go to oz.....

Dem,
Not as much as Phil misses her, but I do try to keep him up to date with photos of our outings!
I am sure our Melbourne Group would love to meet everyone if you did manage to come down here.
It seems like our current trade agreement is working very well; we get your Maseratis and Liz Hurley gets Shane Warne!
I think that is very fair and reasonable.
