Certainly not full service history. Some big gaps in it and missing services when I looked into this one last year.

And as Rockits has said, massive holes in the servicing. Not for me. Be a brave man, or someone handy with the spanners to buy it.

a gap in service actually would not worry me that much if "fully" serviced recently, definently not when compared to no recent service anyway....................

Birdcage, why don't you sell Geoff your spyder? Or you could ask the real owner if he would like to sell it?

Thing is it is very easy to dismiss a car for missing a service but if it has only done say 1k miles in a year I see no reason to throw money down the drain by taking it to a main dealer where they will always find something that needs doing!!!!

We have the same thing with the 3200 right now, it had £6k spent on it in 2014 but has done 400 miles since the last main dealer visit and wants for nothing so really don't see the need to take it to a specialist or MD just because it might help it sell in the future because someone won't buy a car on a forum because it has a stamp missing. I see it as mattering much less as any cars gets over 10 years!

Stamps & Service History are just part of the story, you need to take the whole car on balance. The history on mine wasn't perfect but other things balanced that out, slowly the history is being added, yearly serviced and the improvement jobs as we go all fully documented. It will have a good history file when , if, it leaves me but will the early missing history impact its value I doubt it.

True Phil & wise words, however I think there is a bit more to this car than a missed service or 2, if anyone follows the link to the original thread I do believe Dickie offers that before you go to see it, give him a ring!!!!

There was a fair bit weird about this one as I remember when I researched it all. I am sure it was something like stolen/recovered or CAT something that the owner I spoke to knew nothing about.

I can't remember it all but it sent me running away as fast as I could once I knew the full picture. The missing services were the least of it.

I agree a missed service or two over many years is not the be all & end all. As most have said the full picture/story tells all the tale that most should need.

A solid/good paperwork history doesn't always maketh a good motor.
