Have you over a barrel, only one supplier, pay it or put an older car off the road, they only want new cars or max 3yrs old coming through their doors

Before the internet and the last gasps of British manufacturing there was an alladins cave of engineering supplies in every town. Over the years these have gradually closed down and now you even struggle to find material online. You could walk into these places and drop a bolt, nut or split pin or clinch spiral on the counter and they would toddle off out the back for a few minutes then holler through "How many do you want?".
